It is logical to assume that it is in winter that the stiffened earth will remain on the roots as much as possible, which will provide favorable conditions for landing.
Secondly, winter is the time when the trees are in a state of animation, so the roots that “fall asleep” for the winter acquire characteristic hardness, and damage them is much more difficult than in the warm season during their active work.
